A timeless design
The AA Butterfly© chair, designed by architects Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Juan Kurchan, and Antonio Bonet in 1938, is inspired by Joseph Beverly Fenby's folding chair from 1855. Originally called the BKF, the chair became iconic for its minimalist design with a steel frame and leather seat. Spotted by Edgar Kaufmann Jr., it was included in the MoMA collection and mass-produced by Knoll.
Today, AA[nd] continues to manufacture this design icon under the AA Butterfly© brand.

Made in France with integrity and durability
At AA[nd], the AA Butterfly© armchair goes beyond simple design. Designed from recycled and recyclable steel, the metal structure is manufactured in our own factory in Hauts-de-France. This revisited model embodies authentic French know-how and confirms our commitment to a sustainable future, while guaranteeing you unmatched quality.

Quality craftsmanship
In our workshop in Drôme, Pascale and our craftsmen carefully craft the leather seats of the AA Butterfly© armchair.
